Whereas the Tractor and Machinery Committee of the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., has reviewed the Van Atta seed document which was a proposed OSHA standard for monitoring and controlling agricultural noise;
Whereas the Tractor and Machinery Committee finds such proposals currently unacceptable and impractical for agricultural production;
Whereas the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., is interested in an effective and practical hearing conservation program;
And, whereas, the sub-group of the OSHA-SACA Committee responsible for this standard is expected to take final action during their meetings of October 8-10, 1975 at Lincoln, Nebraska;
Be it therefore resolved…
…that the National Institute for Farm Safety, Inc., president transmit on behalf of the Board of Directors the enclosed Tractor and Machinery Committee report to the chairman of the OSHA-SACA Committee sub-group on noise for their study and consideration.
